HOME | ABOUT COLONIA ECOLOGICA | KIKO & CARMEN'S VIEW | PROFILE OF SOME OF THE CHILDREN | WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO? |
|
Charity Bolivia’s main project, Colonia Ecologica, has the following goals;
• To build an orphanage to offer more security and comfort for
the children who live at Colonia Ecologica, Your donation would help Colonia Ecologica achieve these goals.
Where would your donation go?The main priority is to finish building the house - so that all the children, together with Kiko and Carmen, can be safely housed together under one roof with kitchen, bathrooms and other facilities. Each month they only just have enough money to support the children – there is never anything spare to save for the house.They also need money for food, clothes for the children, school materials, electricity and water, medical care (there is no social security system in Bolivia), transport to school etc.
Bolivia is a very poor country and even a small donation would make a difference to the lives of the children. Here are some examples; £5 (U$9) - more than enough rice or pasta to give all the children living at Colonia dinner for a week. £20(U$36) - Enough for 4 pots of glue, 30 sheets of coloured card, 200 sheets of paper, 4 packs of coloured pens and 4 packs of coloured pencils – several months supply of school materials for the children.> £50 (U$90) - 40 new reading books for the children – the books they have are in poor condition, and the children have read them all. £180 (U$320) - enough to meet all the monthly costs at Colonia Ecologica, including food, bills, school supplies, petrol, bus fares, clothes, medical care etc. for all the children. £2025 (U$3800) - the cost of finishing of the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs of the orphanage big enough for 20 children.
