Thank you

There are so many people to whom we owe thanks over the last few months surrounding the sponsored climb. We usually prefer to thank people individually and have tried to do so to as many people as possible. However, this is difficult to do in the transition period between us leaving Bolivia and arriving home at the end of September as we don“t have full access to all our records. We also felt that there were some people who deserved special recognition for going to the effort of collecting sponsor money on our behalf. Therefore we decided to put some of our thanks here instead - forgive the impersonal nature of this, and we also apologise in case we miss anybody out. We will try to rectify this when we are back in the UK, and please remember that we are truly grateful to all of you who have helped us in whatever way.

A successful climb

It is a few weeks since the climb of Cerro Tunari with the children of Colonia Ecologica, and we now know the total amount we have collected . Money has been collected in Bolivia, the United Kingdom, Holland and the United States - and the grand total so far for this sponsored climb is US$ 3400 (GBP 1900 / Euro 2750). As a reward for making it to the top, Charity Bolivia bought 5 tents for the children. These will sleep 25 children in total and will be used for various camping trips including a week-long bicycle trip in December.

We at Charity Bolivia, Kiko, Carmen and the children would like to thank everybody who collected the sponsorship money for us and all who sponsored us - thank you for your generosity.

The money will be used to pay for the first floor of the house. The building of the house is making excellent progress, the bedrooms are almost finished, walls are varnished, cupboards have been fitted in the bedrooms, tiles are on all the floors and it really feels like a home now. The two bathrooms have been tiled and some of the plumbing is done. The building company agreed to finish the first floor and to accept payment whenever we had the money - thanks to the sponsoship, we will now be able to pay it in full.

Thank you all again so much for your support.
